About Us

We’re on a mission to reduce conflict at work

Resolve Mediation Service was created to help individuals and employers who are experiencing conflict at work to achieve permanent meaningful resolution.  Resolve is part of Bear HR, who have always offered mediation services.  Given the successful results mediation has brought to our clients and our own belief that it really is the best way to resolve conflict at work, we wanted to give it its own name.

Our mediator, Jay Davies, has undertaken training accredited by the Civil Mediation Council and is a fully qualified External Workplace Mediator.

Resolving conflict at work one step at a time

To achieve a successful mediation there are several stages that we go through:

Prior to mediation

Explaining the mediation process and ensuring both parties agree to take part

A pre-mediation call with each individual taking part to explain the mediation process and what to expect on the day. It’s not unusual at this stage to hear at least one of the parties say that they don’t believe mediation will work

Getting the agreement from both parties to go ahead with the mediation and creating the Agreement to Mediate document, which sets out the ground rules for the mediation including confidentiality

During the mediation

Speaking to each party individually to understand what has led to the conflict at work and each person’s perspective, start trying to find that common ground

Recognising when the parties are ready to be brought together to begin talking about their issues and the history behind them. Maintaining a safe environment with respectful discussion that is focused on solving the problems and separating the parties again if necessary for more individual mediation

Facilitating the parties to reach an agreement that is acceptable to them both

Create the Outcome of Mediation Agreement detailing what has been agreed, including whether any part of the discussions are to be divulged to anyone else

After the mediation

Follow up call with each party one month after the mediation
